Since July 6th, Party Poker has been running its Genius Promotion in which every 50,000th hand PartyPoker squares the size of the pot at stake (that is, multiplies the pot by itself; so a $10 pot would produce a $100 bonus while a $50 pot would produce a $2,500 bonus). This makes some unbelievable bonuses possible.
Plus, the minimum bonus that can be earned went up from $100 to $250, with the maximum bonus (for each qualifying hand) being $5,000.
Well, the Genius Promotion was scheduled to end after 10 million hands were played, but it’s apparently been such a success for the site and players alike that Party Poker has decided to up that number to 15 million hands. It’s not quite squaring the duration of the contest, but a bonus is a bonus.
Each bonus is divided equally among the participating players in the winning hand, with the winner of the hand also receiving the original pot. |
